Competition calls for Flash-based games built by developers and aspiring designers

Gimme5games and Mochi Media back Jayisgames’ casual games contest

Eidos New Media’ Gimme5games and ad firm Mochi Media have teamed up with Jayisgames.com for the fifth Casual Gameplay Design competition.

Aiming to inspire developers and would be designers into creating their own flash games, the competition asks entrants to build a Flash-based game around the theme of ‘Upgrade’ with cash prizes up for grabs.

The competition deadline is March 3rd, the organisers say entrants can interpret ‘Upgrade’ anyway they want "however, the extent to which the game addresses the theme is left up to the competitions judges to decide". The rules add: "Importantly those who impress with innovative game design, production skills and an imaginative interpretation of the theme will see their game and credits spread across the world’s casual game sites and be given a thorough review of your work by the JIG Casual Gameplay staff."
