New features include Tile Set Studio and texture streaming support in translucent materials

Granite for Unreal Engine 4.8 goes live

Graphine has released its texture-streaming tool Granite for Unreal Engine 4.8.

The tool integrates with the rendering and material features of Unreal Engine 4 itself. Developers can now stream heightmaps for bump offset mapping and displacement mapping. Streaming textures are now also supported in translucent materials.

New features in Granite SDK 2.5 also include the Tile Set Studio, designed to make it easier to import textures into tile sets. Graphine has also optimised the tool to help support 90fps in virtual reality games.

Granite for Unreal is available for use on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
