E3 reveal on the cards for debut project

Grin brothers return with Supersledge

Bo and Ulf Andersson, the co-founders of collapsed studio Grin, are preparing for their games industry comeback at this year’s E3.

Both brothers are scheduled at attend the Los Angeles event in June to exhibit their first project, according to Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet.

Data suggests that the pair are now heading up new studio Supersledge, with Bo Andersson’s LinkedIn profile claiming he is CEO.

Supersledge’s first project is currently being shown to various journalists, though at E3 the game is expected to go public.

In August 2009, Grin found itself straddled with $24 million in debt and was spending about $2 million per month to maintain the business. The last resort, a massive layoff operation, ensued. Some 300 staff were made redundant and studios in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Barcelona and Jakarta closing down.

Grin was best known for creating Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 and Bionic Commando Rearmed.
