GTA V UK midnight launches balloon to almost 2,000

There will now be almost 2,000 stores opening on Monday night to herald the launch of Grand Theft Auto V.

It could well be the biggest game of the year, in fact, the team over at GAME think it might be the biggest game launch of all time. And retailers will be opening early, late and dressing up in silly outfits to celebrate the blockbuster launch.

Those midnight openings include:

750 Tescos
Over 300 GAMEs
270 Asdas
248 Blockbusters
65 Grainger Games
7 Games Centre’s
100s of independent retailers

Meanwhile, HMV hasn’t nailed down its exact number yet. But games boss Phil Bowes told MCV: "The majority of our leading flagship stores will be opening at midnight to capitalise on the exceptional demand for this unique product."
