Muzyka and Zeschuk awarded for their â??emotionally engagingâ?? projects

Hall Of Fame award for BioWareâ??s doctor duo

BioWare co-founders Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk are both set to be inducted to the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences’ Hall Of Fame.

Muzyka and Zeschuk will be the fourteenth and fifteenth Hall Of Fame inductees – marking the first time the award won’t be handed to a single individual.

The awards body voted for the pair for their “emotionally engaging and detailed cinematic games.”

Along with fellow studio Pandemic, BioWare was purchased by EA in 2007 in a deal worth about $750 million. The publisher closed Pandemic down just two years later.

BioWare, which develops the Mass Effect series, is currently focusing a large chunk of its staff on the upcoming Star Wars MMO; a project thought to be the most expensive of all time, and a massive risk for EA in the treacherous MMO space.

The developer has studios across Canada and the US; in Montreal, Edmonton, Virginia and Texas.

“We’re truly honoured to represent our teams of passionate, hard-working, creative staff across the BioWare Group within Electronic Arts, and they all share this award with us,” said Muzyka.

“Driving BioWare’s success past, present and future are the amazing family of people we have been privileged to work with over the years and our shared core values of quality in our workplace, quality in our products, and entrepreneurship in a context of humility and integrity.”

Zeschuk added, "We’d also like to thank our wives and the families of our employees for their continuous support over the years, which together with the hard work of our great teams continually enables BioWare’s success.”
