QA department mainly affected as the Rock Band team cuts back

Harmonix cuts 39 jobs

Rock Band developer Harmonix has axed over a tenth of its staff, the company has confirmed.

The 39 redundancies – representing 13 per cent of workforce at the group’s Massachusetts studio – are said to have mainly affected the QA team.

MTV Games told news site Joystiq that the job cuts were not related to EA’s current mass-layoff operation.

The publisher added that those affected “were primarily in QA. The others affected ranged from administrative to other various roles within the company.”
