Guitar Hero and Rock Band creator produces portable game that builds levels from MP3s

Harmonix releases iPod music game

Harmonix has released a new game for iPods.

Called ‘Phase: Your Music is the Game’, the title uses the familiar UI seen in the likes of the studio’s Frequency, Amplitude, and Guitar Hero games, generating levels on the fly from the MP3s
 stored on each users’ iPod.

The game costs $4.99 and is available to by the iTunes store.

Harmonix joins a select list of people that have produced games for the iPod which includes NanaOn-Sha’s Matsuya Matsuura, the creator of Parappa the Rapper, mobile outfit Gameloft, Electronic Arts, and independents such as PopCap and Astraware.
