3D artist conference taking place both live and online

Harmonix to talk at global Autodesk event

Rock Band Beatles developer Harmonix is set to offer a unique show-and-tell session during Autodesk’s eleventh annual 3December event.

The studio will send out its art director Ryan Lesser, along with creative director Josh Randall, to bring unique insight into the world of music game development.

The Harmonix session adds to a large list of planned events and discussions taking place at the global Autodesk conference, which can be attended both in person and online, and will also branch out into standalone national events.

Autodesk’s keystone event takes place in Montreal on 3 December, but 3D artists around the world can take part as, from 1-10 December, a virtual event will be held on Autodesk’s digital entertainment and visualisation community.

This online event features a talk with award-winning filmmaker Chris Landreth about his production workflow, and a live presentation by Lightstorm Entertainment on moviemaking technology for visualization.

The event will also offer tutorials, and attendees can also vote for the winners of the 2009 Autodesk Masters – an annual recognition of artists and technical specialists who have excelled in using Autodesk’s 3dS, Maya and Softimage tools.

Autodesk user groups and channel partners will be holding live 3December celebrations in individual countries around the world.
