Havok’s new Cloth and Destruction tools set for GDC08 unveiling

New products from Havok are to be unveiled at GDC08.

Two tools, Havok Cloth and Havok Destruction, will join the firm’s line-up of products that includes its popular Physics engine, event-driven character behaviour tool Behavior and animation SDK Animation.

As the names suggest, the two tools are focused on in-game cloth and destructible materials.

Havok cloth is described as "a new runtime and tools technology that dramatically increases the realism of characters and environments and allows character designers to go beyond simplistic tight fitting or animated clothing".

Destruction meanwhile is "a product that incorporates solutions to these challenges and allows the cost effective creation of spectacular in-game destruction".

The two are set to be discussed further in two sponsored sessions during the Game Developer Conference, one for Cloth and another for Destruction.
