At an event at the newly opened 3D Technology Center on the Sony Pictures lot in Hollywood, it has emerged that the facility will be used for game development training.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the venue has been created to showcase 3D technology and further research into a field that is increasingly a talking point across the media sectors.
The event, which was hosted to demonstrate how TV quiz shows may evolve as the embrace 3D display, was attended by International Cinematographers Guild president Steven Poster, who revealed that his organisation would work with the center to offer training.
"This is a real boon for the industry," said Poster. "We have not been able to implement training because of a lack of facilities."
According to the report directing, cinematography, video game development and live-events production training will be held at Sony’s venue.
