HTC Vive hire Paul Brown as general manager

HTC have announced the hiring of Paul Brown to be general manager of Vive Europe.

Brown has a large background in consumer media content having been at Disney for the last six years as general manager of Disney Interactive for EMEA and Digital D2C, and was also Spotify’s UK MDb looking after the apps mobile launch between 2009/10.

Based in London, Brown’s position at Vive Europe comes at a time where HTC have launched their own VR app store, Viveport, and are continuing to build its technological and market position.

"Virtual reality has the potential to change the world and to genuinely unleash our imagination," said Brown in a statement. "We are only at the beginning of the journey, much like we were with music streaming and video on demand a decade ago! I am looking forward to working closely with the global Vive team to ensure we maintain and build on our position as a leader and pioneer, with our partners, in the VR space.”
