Main competition deadline is October 19th, student competition closes October 31st

IGF submissions close Saturday

The deadline for submissions to the 2014 Independent Games Festival is approaching at the end of the week on Saturday, October 19th.

The IGF is the oldest and most prestigious showcase for the work of independent game developers, helping boost the profile of some of the smallest game developers to the upper reaches of industry fame.

The festival features a games showcase and summit at the main Game Developer’s Conference in San Francisco, culminating in an awards show offering over $60,000 in prizes.

Previous prize winners include Minecraft, Limbo, Fez, Spelunky, Braid, World of Goo, Sword & Sworcery, and a host of some of the biggest titles in indie games.

Next year’s festival and summit will take place March 17-21 2014 at San Francisco’s Moscone Center.

The submission deadline for the main competition is October 19th, but the student competition will be open until the 31st.

Finalists will be announced on January 7th, with the winners announced at the IGF awards show on March 19th.

Visit the IGF website for more information or to submit a project to the competition.
