[Industry news] Ludo.ai Helps Developers Create Game-Ready Textures in Seconds with New AI Tool

This is a press release posted alongside our usual editorial content.

Ludo.ai, the developer’s companion for creating production-ready games assets, today announced its new AI Texture Generator feature, giving game developers a faster way to create seamless static and animated textures for environments, surfaces and props.

The new tool lets developers describe the surface they need, from moss-covered stone and wooden floors to water, lava and snow, then generates a seamless, tileable texture that can be repeated across a game environment without visible joins.

Developers can:

  • Generate seamless textures – Using a simple text prompt to describe a texture removes the need to removing the need to manually create or fix repeating texture patterns
  • Choose from more than 30 art styles – Allows users to quickly adapt textures to meet the wider visual style of a game
  • Preview textures as repeating tiles – Quickly check that textures scale as needed in a game before exporting them
  • Turn static textures into animations – Using a second motion prompt, for effects such as rippling water, bubbling lava, drifting clouds or moving light, developers can quickly animate existing texture assets
  • Create animated textures from four to 64 frames – Set the frame set size, and Ludo creates a loopable animation ready to export
  • Export results – Get textures in the format you need, as sprite sheets, animated GIFs or individual frames
  • Bring texture generation into existing development workflows through Ludo’s API and MCP integration

“Textures can take a surprising amount of production time, particularly when they need to tile cleanly or be animated,” said Jorge Carvalho Gomes, Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer at Ludo.ai. “For solo developers and small studios, the Texture Generator removes that repetitive work so they can spend more time building their game.”

From Prompt to Game-Ready Texture

The Texture Generator can be used across terrain and environments, walls, floors, props and other game surfaces, while developers can create multiple assets in a consistent visual style so different elements feel part of the same game world.

For animated surfaces, developers can add a motion prompt to the generated texture and create loop-ready sprite sheets for effects including water, lava, clouds, light and other moving environmental elements.

The new feature extends Ludo’s wider approach to helping solo developers and small studios reduce production bottlenecks by bringing asset creation into one AI-assisted workflow. Texture generation sits alongside Ludo’s existing tools for sprites, animation, UI assets, backgrounds, 3D, video and audio, while its API and MCP integration allow developers to connect Ludo’s generative tools with Claude, Cursor and their own applications and pipelines.
