And Square Enix Europeâ??s CEO is unsurprised by the Hitman 5 rumours

Io Interactive â??massivelyâ?? on unknown project

Kane and Lynch studio Io Interactive has been “tremendously busy over the last two years” and is “massively” dedicated to a second, unannounced project.

That’s according to Square Enix Europe CEO Phil Rogers, speaking in an interview with Develop.

Copenhagen-based Io Interactive has long been rumoured to be working on a fifth edition of the Hitman series – and the buzz surrounding such a project doesn’t come as a surprise for Rogers.

“Of course you would expect nothing else, Io and Hitman go hand-in-hand,” he said.

Elsewhere in the interview, Rogers explained why staff redundancies had taken place at the outfit.

“Io has been tremendously busy over the last two years,” he said, “it has launched new IPs, we’ve got Kane and Lynch 2 and another project in development.

“Looking at all our production schedules and how they overlap, [we] realised that we had surpluses at that stage.”
