Big online portals at work with cloud-based service

iSwifter streams Flash games to iPad

Startup iSwifter has emerged from stealth mode with a service that lets iPad users play Flash games from some of the world’s biggest games portals.

The service describes itself as a ‘cloud-based Flash streaming service’, and while it works on iPad initially, iSwifter plans to roll it out to iPhone and iPod touch, as well as Android and Windows Phone 7 devices.

iSwifter works by ‘streaming’ Flash games to its dedicated iPad application – the iPad equivalent of console-focused services like OnLive and Gaikai. The games do not run on the device itself.
