Tiny Wings and Contre Jour HD named as year's best games

iTunes Rewind reveals top apps of 2011

iTunes has released its year ending Rewind charts naming the top apps to have been release on iPhone and iPad in 2011.

Andreas Illiger Hill jumping arcade title Tiny Wings has been named iPhone game of the year, whilst Chillingo’s physics-based puzzle game Contre Jour HD was labelled game of the year for iPad.

Runners up for 2011 include To-Fu 2, popular construction game Tiny Tower, Unity powered Shadowgun and colourful title Gesundheit! HD.

As well as games, 2011’s top apps were also named, with the winners being iPad mixing app Djay and photo-sharing iPhone software Instagram.

Other categories featuring the best of 2011 include music, TV, film, books and podcasts.
