Jason Holtman leaves Microsoft

Jason Holtman has left Microsoft after just six months at the company.

In a statement to Polygon, the computing giant confirmed his exit, but did not reveal the reasons for his departure. Holtman had been tasked with helping lead its PC gaming and entertainment strategy.

"We can confirm that Jason has left Microsoft and we’re grateful for his time at the company," read a statement from Microsoft.

"We wish him the best in his future endeavours."

Jason Hotlman joined Microsoft in August last year, following his exit from Valve in February 2013.

Holtman had acted as one of Valve’s primary points of contact for developers using its digital distribution platform Steam, and had played a key role in the company’s developer relations.

Upon joining Microsoft, Holtman said he would be focusing on making Windows "a great platform for gaming and interactive entertainment".

"I think there is a lot of opportunity for Microsoft to deliver the games and entertainment customers want and to work with developers to make that happen, so I’m excited to be here," he said.
