Industry veteran adds his name to UK industry conference

Joseph Olin to talk at Game Horizon 2010

DICE summit president and games industry heavyweight Joseph Olin is to talk at Game Horizon 2010.

The event, taking place June 29 – 30, has already confirmed some big names, including Fable creator Peter Molyneux and Eidos life president Ian Livingstone.

Olin will be speaking on the importance of talent within games development. Game Horizon organisers said he will be focusing on games evolution compared to other entertainment media, and how encouraging the best creators is relevant to consumers and commercial interests.

Joseph Olin said, "GameHorizon provides an opportunity for decision makers to share perspectives on where the industry and their businesses are heading in the future,” Olin said.

“As the president of AIAS and the organiser of D.I.C.E. I believe it to be critical to learn what our European game industry colleagues think about the challenges they face in coping with constant change endemic to this young form of entertainment.”

GameHorizon conference director Carri Cunliffe added: “we are very pleased to have Joseph over to speak I think there is a lot we can learn from his work. Talent is the lifeblood of the industry and we are all looking to see how the best people can be developed and sourced”.
