Studio set to self-publish next title

Journey developer raises $7m for new game

Journey developer Thatgamecompany has raised an additional $7 million in funding for its next game.

In a statement the studio said the investment would help it scale up development efforts on the new title. It added the funds would also help it self-publish, market and distribute the game and future titles.

The funding was provided by Capital Today and a team of other investors.

As well as developing hit PS3 game Journey, Thatgamecompany has also created titles such as flOw and Flower. It has described its new game as an “emotionally engaging experience centred around human connections”.
