Crowdfunding firm hosting meet-ups and workshops for interested parties across the country

Kickstarter Canada goes live September 9th

Canada-based developers and tech start-ups will be able to use crowdfunding website as of September 9th.

The site is already open for developers to register their projects. Campaigns will not go live until September 9th however.

Those using the Canada-facing site must have a permanent residence in the country, have a Canadian credit card and have an address, bank account and government-issued ID in the country.

Over the next few weeks Kickstarter will be hosting a number of meet-ups and workshops across Canada as it prepares to go live.

Events include Kickstarter Schools in Toronto on August 8th and 9th, and a further Kickstarter School on the 12th in Montreal. The organisation will also host a meet-up for interested parties in Montreal on August 13th.

Canadians can also request further events in their area.
