Kickstarter names Yancey Strickler as new CEO

There has been a management reshuffle at Kickstarter headquarters with co-founder Yancey Strickler taking over at CEO.

He will officially begin his new role on January 1st, when current CEO Perry Chen – also a co-founder – switches to becoming chairman.

Meanwhile, the third co-founder Charles Adler will step away from the company to move back to Chicago, but he will still be involved as an advisor.

The moves were announced via the Kickstarter blog.

As chairman, Chen will be able to support the company’s key projects and offer guidance, as well as work on some of his own creative projects.

Of Strickler’s new appointment, he said: "Yancey has the love and respect of the team, first and foremost me. As a partner, I’m excited to work with him in this new way. As a friend, I’m even more excited for him. Kickstarter is in phenomenal hands."
