Upcoming rogue-like The Flame in the Flood raises $180,000 – $30,000 over goal and 16 days early

Kickstarter success for ex-BioShock devs The Molasses Flood

Another crowdfunding campaign by former members of Irrational Games has smashed through its target ahead of schedule.

The Flame in the Flood, an Unreal Engine-powered rogue-like game, was proposed on Kickstarter with a goal of $150,000. And, as spotted by VG247, the campaign has raised $180,000 from 5,500 backers – and there’s still 16 days to go.

As a result, developer The Molasses Flood – a new studio formed of ex-Irrational and Harmonix devs – has started adding stretch goals, including a PS4 port and an endless mode. The first stretch goal, which was German, French and Spanish localisations, has already been achieved.

The Flame in the Flood sees players travelling along a procedurally-generated river in a post-apocalyptic North America, gathering resources to ensure their survival.
