Latest version adds dynamic pathfinding and multicore support

Kynapse 5 to launch at GDC08

Kynapse 5, the latest version of Kynogon’s AI middleware, will be released at the Game Developers Conference 2008 later this month.

This latest version contains three new core features. The new 3D pathfinding component introduces dynamic pathfinding around ever-changing game worlds, while support for multicore and multithreaded architectures dramatically increases performance by utilising extra threads, cores and SPUs. Finally, the pre-processing of topology can now be distributed across multiple computers on a network to significantly decrease build times.

“We always have worked hard to listen to our clients and anticipate market evolutions. The new features in Kynapse 5 are a direct response to our clients needs,” said Pierre Pontevia, CEO of Kynogon.

“We are particularly looking forward to seeing what types of new gameplay developers will produce using Kynapse 5.”
