Jon Torrens will return to offer advice at November 12th event

Learn to pitch like a pro and engage with communities at Interface

A flurry of new speakers has been added to the Interface conference programme, providing delegates with useful and practical advice on a broad spectrum of topics.

As announced last week, Revolution Software’s Charles Cecil will provide the keynote speech entitled ‘Access To Finance: 35 Years of Indie Financing’.

Joining Cecil will be communications and presentations coach Jon Torrens, who will present ‘Pitching Like A Pro’. Torrens has straddled both games design – working at Sony Cambridge, Criterion and Argonaut – and stand-up comedy, and uses his insight and experience to help clients deliver better presentations.

Games industry marketing and PR veteran Natalie Griffiths of Press Space will discuss ‘Building Something Out of Nothing: Why Community Management is the New PR’. And more speakers, panel sessions and Masterclasses will be announced shortly.

Brought to you by MCV and Develop, Interface will take place on Thursday November 12th at St Mary’s Church, near Baker Street and Marylebone Tube/Train stations. The interactive content marketplace, which combines funding advice, private pitching, conference sessions, games showcasing and more, returns after a successful May debut which attracted some 300 games professionals.

Interface is structured to be as affordable as possible for games businesses of all sizes, with the basic indie expo pass free and indie tickets for the meeting system (which guarantees you a day’s schedule of private meetings with publishers looking to sign new games) priced at £59 +VAT. Indie game expo spaces are £199 + VAT and include involvement in the meeting system.

For publishers and larger studios, an expo pass is £20 + VAT, and the meeting system rate is £149 + VAT. Publishers looking to host meetings for the day pay £500 + VAT.

The Interface Meeting System is at the heart of the day, with private meetings between delegates and hosts. NewBay Media take all the details of attendees and hosts and matchmake them, based on requirements and needs.

Plus there’s a conference and public expo running throughout the day. Further speakers will be announced over the next couple of weeks.
