Losses narrow at Disney Interactive

The Disney Interactive Media Group has seen losses decrease year-on-year, though the division still remains the only one at Disney to be operating at a loss.

It does so despite an impressive rise in revenue, climbing 27 per cent year-on-year to $251m for the quarter ending June 2nd. Operating losses were also down from $107m to $86m.

Continued costs relating to the Playdom acquisition are still affecting the numbers, and there were strong performances from LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean and Cars 2.

In the last year Disney has shut down two development studios – Black Rock and Propaganda Games.
