Japanese smartphone developer bringing Lumies to mobile

Lumines and Meteos IP acquired by Mobcast

Mobcast has picked up the rights to two of Q Entertainment’s puzzle titles: Lumines and Meteos.

The Japan-based smartphone developer is responsible for a number of sports, casual and puzzle games for mobile, and is already working on a mobile version of Lumines, according to Siliconera.

In fact, the smartphone iteration of Lumines will be co-developed with Tetsuya Mizuguchi, founder of Q Entertainment and creator of both Lumines and Rez.

Mizuguchi previously took a break from games development, but is now getting back into the sector with his new California-based studio Enhance Games, which will be working with Mobcast on the new Lumines.

Known for various iterations on PlayStation handhelds, the last entry in the Lumines series was on PS Vita.
