Developer working on original IP and work-for-hire projects

Marmalade opens new game studio in Portugal

Marmalade has opened a new game studio in Lisbon, Portugal.

The developer will work in tandem with the London branch on work-for-hire projects and the company’s own original IP. Marmalade studio VP Mike Willis, who also previously worked at EA, will oversee the new team.

The new Lisbon office is part of Marmalade’s growth plans following its $2m funding round announced last week.

“The addition of a second branch of the Marmalade Game Studio is yet more great news for Marmalade, and an important moment for us in terms of our planned international expansion.” said Marmalade CEO Harvey Elliott.

“The Lisbon Studio will help relieve pressure on our busy London team, and will enable us to rapidly move forward with a number of exciting projects that are already in the pipeline”.
