Mass Effect Andromeda, Halo 4 writer moves to Bungie

The lead writer for the next Mass Effect game has jumped ship from BioWare to another sci-fi-focused studio – Bungie.

Chris Schlerf already has a tangential link to the Destiny creator, having worked on Halo 4 at 343 Industries, which inherited the shooter series from Bungie.

In 2013 he moved to BioWare Montreal, contributing to Mass Effect Andromeda before departing late last year. On the state of the sci-fi sequel, Schlerf simply said development “continues apace”.

He added confirmation that he had joined Bungie, but declined to offer any extra information on his responsibilities at the outlet.

"To confirm what some folks asked about a few months back, I am no longer working on Mass Effect: Andromeda at BioWare Montreal," Schlerf tweeted.

"It was sincerely one of the best experiences of my career – I’m incredibly grateful to have worked with such talented and truly wonderful human beings.

“I think Andromeda is really gonna blow people away; couldn’t be prouder to be part of it and am excited like a lil’ kid to play the final game when it’s out.

"All that said, very happy to be back in Seattle, working with this scrappy little company called Bungie that some of you may have heard of."
