75 percent of staff laid-off in restructuring

Massive cuts at Icarus Studios

Icarus Studios, the studio behind MMO Fallen Earth, has laid-off 75 percent of its staff and laid out plans to merge with the co-developers of the game, Fallen Earth LLC. The move leaves 28 core employees working at the firm.

In a brief statement made on the Fallen Earth website forums, the company stated their intention to continue to support the game.

“We are on time for Blood Sports Patch 1.4 next Friday, and we are on schedule for subsequent content updates,” it said.

“The decisions made today regarding staff are for the general health of the company and the game as a whole, and we don’t anticipate any changes on the player side of things.”

Worlds in Motion later learned that recently promoted content team lead Josh Peery was among the staff who lost their jobs.
