McAfee rebranded as Intel Security

It’s almost as if the company wants to distance itself from the McAfee name…

The McAfee brand is to be phased out and rebranded as Intel Security, Intel’s CEO has said.

Intel Security, which will include all of the security products and services offered by the firm, will retain the red shield logo used by McAfee products, which Krzanich said symbolises the core values of security and protection”.

Intel announced its plans to acquire the McAfee brand in 2010, with a bid of $7.7 billion (4.7 billion).
