DICE building multiplayer game, as EA Los Angeles handles solo campaign

Medal of Honor using highly modified UE3

Speaking at EA’s recent showcase in London, EA Los Angeles executive producer Greg Goodrich has revealed that the new Medal of Honor is built using a customised version of UE3.

“Medal of Honor uses a highly modified version of Unreal 3," explained Goodrich, later adding: “we have a really strong team on hand, with a mixture of veterans and lots of fresh blood from other studios.”

The exec producer also confirmed that the PlayStation 3 is to be the lead platform, and claimed that having two full teams at work on the military shooter demonstrates EA’s commitment to a series that has in recent iterations languished behind Activision’s Call of Duty.

“There were no challenges for us," joked Goodrich when asked by Develop about the difficulties the game’s creation faced, adding more seriously: "The game was playable from beginning to end last December. This year we’ve been working on developing and polishing it, and now we’re squeezing every last bit of quality out of it now.”
