LittleBigPlanet sees off Viva Piñata, Boom Blox Bash Party and de Blob for top prize

Media Molecule takes kidsâ?? BAFTA

Media Molecule has picked up yet another award for its seminal playground platformer LittleBigPlanet, this time receiving a BAFTA Children’s award.

The Media Molecule team was up against esteemed competition in the videogame category, with each nomination tellingly having worked on new IP for the current generation of consoles.

LittleBigPlanet was pitted against EALA’s Boom Blox Bash Party, Rare’s Viva Piñata: Pocket Paradise and breakthrough THQ title de Blob.

But last night at the London Hilton Hotel it was the Media Molecule team that walked away with the prize in hand.

LittleBigPlanet’s award stash continues to grow. The title has won awards from numerous websites, as well as at the Spike Video Game Awards, the Game Developers Choice Awards, and a record five awards at the 2009 Develop Awards.
