ob posting reveals cross-platform plans

Microsoft bringing Xbox Live to mobile

Microsoft is planning to ramp up its mobile gaming activities, tying Windows Mobile into its Xbox Live community.

At least, that’s what it says it’s doing in a job advert for a Principal Program Manager – LIVE Engagement Job, which was uncovered by MobileTechWorld:

"We’re connecting players via the LIVE services on new devices beyond the console," says the ad.

"We need a Principle Program Manager who can help drive the platform and bring Xbox LIVE enabled games to Windows Mobile. This person will focus specifically on what makes gaming experiences “LIVE Enabled” through aspects such as avatar integration, social interactions, and multi-screen experiences."

Microsoft is also recruiting a Software Test Engineer with an equally bullish ad that asks "Do you think mobile gaming and always connected internet has the potential to change the way people play games? If so then the Mobile Entertainment is where you need to be."
