Robotic toy company adds ex-Epic president to its board

Mike Capps joins board of directors at Sphero

Sphero has revealed that Mike Capps, former president of Epic Games, is the latest to join its board of directors.

The robotic toy company, previously known as Orbotix, specialises in what it calls "connected play" – robotic toys that interact with mobile apps, according to GamesIndustry.

Capps is already an advisory board member for GDC and runs a consulting firm. He is also on the board of directors for Quantum Break dev Remedy Entertainment and the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences.

"Sphero is at the forefront of transforming the way kids play, but connecting digital and physical play in creative and meaningful ways," said Capps. "I’m honoured to be part of this dynamic team, and I’m excited to help with their exciting plans to expand ‘connected play’ worldwide."
