Minecraft PC sales surpass 20m

Minecraft PC sales have surpassed 20 million, Mojang’s Daniel Kaplan has announced.

This means in the last year the game has sold some five million units, having previously reached 15m PC sales in April last year. In April 2013, the game had hit 10m sales.

The numbers show that Minecraft continues to sell at a relentless pace despite the full version being released back in 2011.

Mojang was acquired by Microsoft in September last year for $2.5bn. Earlier this week it was announced that Mojang would be halting support for collectible card game Scrolls, and focusing fully on Minecraft.
