Mixamo extends Autodesk support

Online-focused 3D animation group Mixamo has struck a deal that will provide its catalogue of animations to Autodesk 3ds Max users.

Those using 3ds Max typically have to rely on using motion-capture and keyframing processes, says Mixamo, but the new partnership means that 3ds Max users can now download from Mixamo’s online hub of ‘pre-made’ motions.

Mixamo – which is headquartered in Silicon Valley – is keen to stress that it has a range of human animations to suit many instances, and each are fully customisable. The service can speed up 3D character creation up to “five times faster than current industry averages,” the company said.
