New team to work on server and client infrastructure

Mojang hires from the Minecraft community

Minecraft developer Mojang Specifications has acquired some new employees straight from its own community to help enhance server support for its massively popular sandbox title.

The new hires were selected from the Minecraft community; specifically, the top four developers of Bukkit, a community-based group focused on Minecraft server implementation.

“[The team] will work on improving both the server and the client to offer better official support for larger servers and server modifications,” lead developer Jens Bergensten stated on the developer’s official blog.
