Monumental welcomes new biz dev director

Developer and middleware firm Monumental Games has hired Mike Cox as business development director for the EMEA region.

Cox, who previously served as Chemistry studio head and EA development director, is charged with driving the company’s move into the lucrative 3D browser MMO middleware market. Working alongside Monumental Games’ CEO Rik Alexander, Cox will also be responsible for forging relationships with publishers.

“Mike’s expertise in the middleware market and strong gaming heritage make him the perfect addition to the team,” said Alexander. “His experience and skills will prove invaluable as we start to move into the 3D browser MMO middleware arena.”

“Monumental Games’ industry-leading MMO technology coupled with the excellent company culture are two of the main reasons why I’m so excited to be taking on this new challenge,” said Mike Cox, business development director, EMEA, Monumental Games. “I look forward to the future and being part of the Monumental team as the company continues to achieve success.”

Cox also worked at Kuju and engine firm Emergent Technologies, after founding Audiomotion in 1997.
