Closed beta from EAâ??s Sims Studio set for event reveal

More GDC08 talks announced

Jamil Moledina, executive director of the Games Developers Conference, has revealed details on a few more talks set for this year’s GDC08 on his blog.

Possibly the vaguest, and yet most intriguing, is the talk by EA’s Sims Studio head Rod Humble called ‘The Emergent Gamer’. While details are scant on the lecture’s contents, Moledina says that “all I can tell you on the subject is that there will be a closed beta at GDC, and you’ll want to be there.”

Also highlighted in the blog post is ‘Standing the Test of Time: A Q&A with Sid Meier”, where veteran LucasArts designer Noah Falstein will interview Meier on his 25 years in the business.

Also at the conference, TV and game writer Flint Dille will talk on his transmedia experiences in ‘The Blur: Creating in the Eye of the Storm’, and software architect Parag Havaldar will give an interdisciplinary programming and design talk based on Sony Pictures Imageworks’ recent Beowulf film.

GDC 2008 takes place between February 18th and 22nd.
