Harmonix parent deems affair 'baseless litigation'

MTV reponds to Konami lawsuit

Harmonix parent company MTV has responded to the lawsuit brought upon itself by Konami.

Speaking to the MTV Multiplayer blog, an MTV spokesperson said: "Konami’s actions are extremely surprising.

"Unfortunately, successful products such as Rock Band can often become targets for baseless litigation. We have substantial defenses to this claim and intend to vigorously defend it."

As the blog points out, however, this isn’t the first time Konami and Harmonix have had any interaction – the developer was commissioned by Konami to create five titles in Konami’s Karaoke Revolution series between 2003 and 2006.

Konami declined to comment on pending litigation.
