Platinum Sound Publishing and The Academy of Contemporary Music join the UK trade body

Music groups join Tiga

The Academy of Contemporary Music and Platinum Sound Publishing have both joined UK games industry body Tiga.

Both groups provide musical services to the games industry, either directly or through training.
For instance, Platinum Sound Publishing produces music for a variety of multimedia products, including games.

Meanwhile, Guildford’s Academy of Contemporary Music is a leading industry education academy, offering courses on guitar, bass, drums, vocals, music production, and creative sound design.

This year the Academy has added a new music business course, which includes a module on Interactive Entertainment.

“The Interactive Entertainment module focuses on the world of computer gaming,” said Business School Manager Helen Gammons, who said that the future of the music industry is going to become increasingly interactive.

“[The course] topics will include explaining the infrastructure of this market segment and looking at the process of creating, developing, publishing and marketing computer games.”
