Key new additions to the real-time character animation and model export system

MysticGD opens Emotion FX beta phase

Real-time character animation middleware specialist MysticGD has launched the beta of its newest product; Emotion FX Extended.

MysticGD said a key new feature of Extended is the addition of a parameter driven hierarchical blend tree.

The Rotterdam-based company also said the new tech adds a state machine editor with support for live testing that can be operated with a game controller.

The firm’s development director John van der Burg welcomed any animators or developers that wanted to test the middleware.

"We are glad to finally announce the beta of EMotion FX Extended. We have put a lot of work into this new product and believe it offers an intuitive, robust and even addictive character blending authoring experience.

"While this is a beta version and we are still working hard on the final version, we recognize the value our customers bring to the development process and want their input so we can deliver the best final product possible.”
