Eutechnyx COO Darren Jobling aims to revive the dormant NASCAR brand

NASCAR dev wants fun back in racing genre

UK indie studio Eutechnyx says its NASCAR project is the most important of the studio’s lifetime, and promises the game will “bring fun and excitement” back to the genre.

Eutechnyx COO Darren Jobling told Develop the racing genre was “sadly lacking” the fizz and fun it once was famous for.

“There is no question that in a number of areas NASCAR The Game 2011 will set new standards for others to follow in the racing genre,” he said.

And the largest third-party publisher in the world is backing the studio.

Activision will bring NASCAR 2011 to market in February, ending a hiatus for the brand.

“We’ve been lucky enough to work with some major brands in the past and some great publishers, but the sheer scale of NASCAR, puts this project right up there,” Jobling added.
