Uncharted studio accounts for nearly 20 per cent of all UK games sales

Naughty Dog dominates August with The Last of Us: Remastered

Strong sales of The Last of Us: Remastered made Naughty Dog the most successful studio in terms of UK sales during August.

Figures from GfK Chart-Track show that the Uncharted dev’s PS4 remastering of its award-winning 2013 hit The Last of Us accounted for 18.6 per cent of UK games sales in terms of value between July 27th and August 23rd.

Naughty Dog’s share is far ahead of its closest competitor, Ubisoft Montreal, which accounts for 7.2 per cent with multi-platform open-world game Watch Dogs.

There were four UK studios with games in the Top 20 best-sellers list, led by Traveller’s Tales as The Lego Movie Videogame continues to sell well. The studio came in at No.3, with 4J Studios at No.8, thanks to the ongoing success of its Xbox 360 port of Minecraft, and Rebellion at No.10, following good sales of Sniper Elite 3.

Rockstar North (No.11 with GTA V) and Codemasters (No.20 with Grid Autosport) round off the UK contingent.
