PC Action RPG will be developed with Epic’s game engine by team of 70

New 4th Floor studio building Goodgame’s first Unreal title

Goodgame Studios is branching out from its casual and social origins with the upcoming unveiling of a new PC title.

The unannounced game will be the company’s first action-RPG and will be developed using Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 4. It is being handle by Goodgame’s new 4th Floor studio.

This internal team is comprised of more than 70 staff members with experience from stints at Blizzard, EA, Epic and Riot Games. The team will be led by the recently-hired William Corey Barnard, formerly a leading member of Warner Bros.

“The 4th Floor has a unique environment with widespread creative freedom,” said Barnard. “Our first PC client game combines unique asymmetric, competitive and co-operative gameplay in a way never seen before.”

CEO Kai Wawrzinek added: “We are excited to enter the core games market with 4th Floor studio. Entering this segment is vastly important in our pursuit of becoming one of the world’s leading game developers.”

Goodgame announced its plans to target hardcore gamers way back in 2014, but continues to generate most of its empire from social games such as Goodgame Empire.
