Super Scratch Programming Adventure uses comics to ready new generation of developers

New book to teach kids games coding

A new coding book has been released to teach children games development.

Super Scratch Programming Adventure uses comic strips and colourful diagrams to help youngsters make a game using the MIT-developed Scratch programming language. Scratch allows those new to games making to develop by combining pre-prepared blocks of code.

The book, originally authored in Chinese by members of Hong Kong’s Learning Through Engineering, Art and Design collective, has been translated into English by the group in conjunction with MIT.

Super Scratch Programming Adventure strives to communicate the basic theory of programming without the need for understanding complex syntaxes and other hurdles to understanding.

Available now, the book is published by No Starch Press, and cover version 1.4 of Scratch.
