Primeâ??s first public demonstration locked-in at networking event Game Connection

New Monumental MMO engine set for debut

Monumental Games is heading to Game Connection in Lyon, France, to publicly unveil its new browser-based 3D MMO engine, Prime.

The firm branded its new tech as “the world’s first commercially available browser-based 3D MMO engine”, though some say Unity 3 already claims that very abstruse distinction.

Prime will be shown to Game Connection attendees in what will be the first live demonstration of the technology. The technology is currently being trialled by a select number of developers, though straight after Game Connection (November 15-18) it will be fully available to the development community.

Game Connection organisers expect to attract companies and studios from every facet of the industry looking to sell, buy, pitch or invest in games.

High profile companies including Activision-Blizzard, Apple, Capcom, Big Point, EA, Microsoft, SCEE, THQ, Square-Enix, and Ubisoft are already confirmed to attended, and will join some 220 firms for three days of special 30-minute meetings.
