The casual games sector has been given another boost via the founding of a new studio based in New York, called Rebel Monkey.

New York welcomes new casual games studio

Founded by Margaret Wallace and Nicholas Fortugno, the studio is focused on making ‘the next generation’ of casual games.

The two have an established track record in the field – Wallace was co-founder of San Francisco’s Skunk Studios, while Fortugno’s design credits include Diner Dash and Plantasia.

"Rebel Monkey came about as a meeting of like-minds – with a common goal of taking casual games to the next level," explained Wallace, CEO of the new studio.

"Both Nicholas Fortugno and I have been involved in casual games since the beginning, so we are bringing a lot of experience to the table."
