Nexon invests in Austria mobile developer Socialspiel

Free-to-play games giant Nexon has invested in Austria mobile game developer Socialspiel.

As part of the partnership, Nexon will take a minority stake in the company and will nominate a new director to the studio’s board.

The developer and publisher has also obtained worldwide publishing rights for Socialspiel’s upcoming mobile and tablet titles, including for an as yet untitled action RPG.

Its next game is due to be released in spring 2015.

Socialspiel was founded in 2010 in Vienna by former Rockstar and Deep Silver developers, and has worked on games such as social fishing adventure game Tight Lines Fishing.
