OTOY partnership brings cloud computing and new 3D rendering services to middleware giant's portfolio

‘Next gen tools planned’ as Autodesk invests

Autodesk has invested in cloud streaming tech outfit OTOY to create a “new generation” of development tools.

"We are pleased to be working with OTOY based on their strong track record with rendering, capture, compression and GPGPU technologies," said Autodesk VP Brian Mathews.

"Our investment marks the next significant step in the company’s efforts to advance rendering, cloud, and compression technologies for use in a variety of industries."

The aim of the partnership is to “enable continuous integration” of OTOY’s technology, which includes mesh streaming to provide cloud computing and 3D rendering tools Octane and Brigade, across the US middleware giant’s portfolio.

The exact investment figure has not been disclosed.
